If you're an expecting parent in Baltimore, Maryland, dreaming about maternity photos that actually feel like Baltimore then you start with Fells Point. Cobblestone streets, historic brick, the waterfront at golden hour… it's one of my favorite places in the city to photograph a mama-to-be, and Dara's maternity session shows exactly why.

I'm Tasha, a Baltimore maternity photographer with 13 years of experience photographing expecting parents all over Baltimore and Maryland. Dara's session is a perfect example of what a Fells Point maternity session can look like — relaxed, glowing, and full of the character that makes this neighborhood so loved.

Why Fells Point Is Perfect for Maternity Photos

Fells Point gives us everything in one walkable little neighborhood:

  • The waterfront and harbor views for soft, dreamy sunset portraits

  • Cobblestone streets and historic brick along Thames Street for timeless, classic Baltimore backdrops

  • Piers and promenades where the light bounces off the water — flattering for every mama

  • A mix of scenic wide shots and quiet, intimate corners, all within a short stroll

Dara's Session

Dara, you were an absolute dream. We wandered the neighborhood as the light turned golden, stopping wherever the city showed off because in Fells Point, it shows off a lot. These are the kinds of images that still feel like you years from now, just in one of Baltimore's most beautiful settings.

Expecting Again? Maternity Photos for Second-Time Moms

A special note for my second-time moms (and third, and fourth!): this pregnancy deserves to be celebrated just as much as your first. So many expecting parents skip maternity photos the second time around — and then wish they hadn't.

Second-time maternity sessions are some of my favorites because:

  • Your older little one can join for sweet sibling-to-be moments

  • You already know how fast this season flies by — these photos are how you hold onto it

  • It's a rare, built-in excuse to slow down and soak in this baby before they arrive

When Shod You Book Your Baltimore Maternity Session?

The sweet spot for maternity photos is 28–36 weeks where your bump is beautifully round, and you're (hopefully!) still comfortable enough to enjoy a stroll around Fells Point. Baltimore maternity sessions book up quickly, especially in spring and fall, so I recommend reaching out in your second trimester to get your due date on my calendar.

What to Wear for Fells Point Maternity Photos

  • A long, flowy dress that moves with the harbor breeze photographs beautifully here

  • Soft, solid colors that let the brick and water shine (creams, dusty blues, and earth tones are gorgeous in Fells Point)

  • Comfortable shoes for the cobblestones between spots and we'll swap for your pretty ones in photos
