For more than 12 years, I've been creating timeless newborn portraits for families throughout Maryland. As a mom myself, I know how quickly these early days pass, which is why every session is designed to feel calm, unhurried, and completely baby-led. Your baby's comfort and safety always come first.
From wardrobe styling to gentle posing, I'll guide you through every step so you can simply relax, soak in these fleeting moments, and enjoy your growing family.
My goal is to create more than beautiful photographs. I want to create heirloom artwork that brings you right back to these tiny fingers, sleepy snuggles, and overwhelming love for years to come.

When it comes to posed newborn photography in Baltimore, Maryland, your baby’s health, safety, and comfort are always my top priorities.
My newborn photography studio is meticulously cleaned and sanitized between every session, and I continue to wear a mask during all newborn sessions for added peace of mind. All props, blankets, and equipment are thoroughly sanitized after each use to create a safe, clean environment for your baby.
The studio is designed with new parents in mind. You’ll always remain in the same room as your newborn, and everything you might need is available—from diapers, wipes, burp cloths, and pacifiers to a bottle warmer, changing table, and snacks (sleep not included, unfortunately).
If you forget something, don’t stress—there’s a Target right across the street. My goal is to provide a calm, seamless newborn photography experience in Baltimore so you can relax and focus on your baby.

When it comes to props, I’ve put so much thought and care into choosing each and every piece. You won’t find any random, secondhand items in my collection—I make sure everything is specially designed for newborn photography and sourced from trusted vendors who cater specifically to babies. It’s all about giving you and your little one the best!
These sessions are honestly such a joy to create. Every setup is carefully tailored to reflect something meaningful to you, whether it’s inspired by your baby’s name, their nursery theme, or even your hopes and dreams for their future. And because I’m a huge fan of incorporating natural textures and elements, I love bringing that cozy, organic vibe into the shoot. With posed sessions, we get to have so much fun creating these unique, adorable setups that really make your baby the star of the show.

Which Newborn Session Is Right for You?
I offer two distinct styles of newborn photography, each designed to preserve your baby's earliest days in a beautiful and meaningful way. While both create timeless images, the experience—and the timing—is very different.
Posed Newborn Photography
Posed newborn sessions are the classic newborn portraits most people envision. Your baby is gently guided into carefully supported poses using wraps, blankets, and handcrafted props to create timeless, artistic images.
Because these poses rely on your baby being naturally sleepy, flexible, and comfortable, posed newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first 5–14 days after birth. During this brief window, newborns tend to sleep more deeply, naturally curl into womb-like positions, and transition more comfortably between poses. As babies become more alert and begin stretching out, these poses are often no longer appropriate or comfortable.
Every pose is completed at your baby's pace, with safety and comfort always taking priority over any photograph.
Lifestyle Newborn Photography
Lifestyle newborn sessions take a completely different approach. Rather than focusing on posed portraits, they celebrate the authentic moments that make these first weeks so special.
Your baby doesn't need to be asleep or posed in specific positions. Whether they're wide awake, stretching, yawning, feeding, or peacefully resting in your arms, the goal is to document your family's natural connection exactly as it unfolds.
Because there is little to no posing, lifestyle newborn sessions offer much more flexibility and can comfortably take place during the first several weeks after your baby's arrival. The focus is on genuine emotion, tiny details, and the beautiful story of welcoming your newest family member home.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my newborn session?
The sooner, the better! Most families book around the beginning of the second trimester (around 12 weeks), but you can reserve your due date as soon as you feel comfortable. You'll choose your due date on my calendar link (seen above) or reach out to schedule your due date and once your baby arrives, you will let me know within 24 hours of birth and we'll schedule your session.
How old should my baby be?
For posed newborn sessions, the sweet spot is within the first 5 to 19 days after birth when babies are sleepiest and easiest to gently pose. Lifestyle sessions are a little more flexible and are perfect for babies up to about 3 weeks old and beyond. If your baby is older, don't worry. Reach out and we'll find the best option for your family.
Do you photograph newborn twins?
Absolutely! As a mom of twin boys, twins hold a special place in my heart. I love creating beautiful, timeless portraits that celebrate the unique bond between your little ones. (Twin sessions may require additional time, so be sure to mention you're expecting multiples when you inquire.)
Do siblings participate?
Yes! Family and sibling portraits are included in my family newborn collections. I love capturing the connection between your newest little one and the people who already love them most.
What should parents wear?
Soft, neutral colors always photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your family. I also have a collection of newborn wraps, outfits, and accessories available for your session, and I'm happy to help guide you with wardrobe recommendations before your session. You can look in the photo below for sample outfits that work well with my style.
Where is your newborn studio located?
My natural light studio is located in Cockeysville, Maryland, just north of Baltimore. It's fully stocked with everything you might need for your newborn session, including wraps, outfits, props, diapers, wipes, a changing station, bottle warmer, snacks, and more, so you can simply arrive and relax.
Do you photograph families from Washington DC?
Yes! Many of my families travel from Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Baltimore, and throughout Maryland for their newborn sessions. My studio is an easy drive from the DC metro area, and I'd love to welcome your family.
What if my baby won't sleep?
Please don't stress! Every newborn session is completely baby-led. Some babies sleep the entire time, while others prefer to stay awake and curious. With over 12 years of experience photographing newborns, I'll gently work with your baby's unique personality to create a beautiful gallery, no matter what the day brings.
What should I bring to my newborn session?
Very little! My studio is thoughtfully stocked with everything we need for your baby's portraits, including luxury wraps, timeless newborn outfits, handcrafted bonnets, delicate headbands, blankets, and carefully selected accessories. My goal is to make your experience as effortless and stress-free as possible, so you can simply enjoy these special moments with your new baby.
The only essentials I recommend bringing are diapers, wipes, bottles and feeding supplies (including plenty of formula or extra breast milk if needed), a pacifier if your baby uses one, and anything that helps comfort your little one. And if you happen to forget something, don't worry—there's a good chance I'll already have it at the studio.
